The invitations had been sent and the stage set. The day had finally arrived, it was Mothers Day! All our students were looking forward for making the day special for their dear moms. Each grade had planned in a different way to celebrate mother’s day.
A special assembly was organized by the tiny tots of KG 1 to honour mothers. After the assembly, the children crowned their mums and gifted them with handmade purses and cards. The day ended with exciting games played in each section.
A day out at the park was arranged for all the KG 2 students and their lovely mothers. Exciting games and yummy snacks was the order of the day.
The mothers of Grade 1 were invited to watch the movie “How to train a Dragon” along with their children at Grand Cinemas in Sahara Mall.
It was “Masti with Mom” for the mothers of Grade 2 as they were on the ground enjoying the sports activities with their children.
A special assembly was organized by the students of Grade 6B and their class teacher Mrs. Anita Rinu George to present an ode to mothers .The mothers of Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 walked the ramp and expressed their views on topics given by the students.
All these entertaining programs made it a rocking Mothers Day for all the beautiful RIS moms. Without doubt it voices out that mothers are very special and to be treasured.
KG 1’S DELIGHTFUL RED COLOUR DAY
KG1 ORIENTATION
An orientation program was organized for the parents of Kindergarten1 on 05-04-2012.
Information was provided about the kindergarten curriculum, activities and the daily routine structure of the children.
The purpose was to minimize separation anxiety and reassured parents that their wards would settle in quickly to a caring and accepting environment.
GRADE 1 ORIENTATION
Transition from Kindergarten
To ensure a smooth transition from kindergarten to grade 1 an orientation program was held for all the grade 1 parents on 04-04-2012.
Parents were briefed about the expectations in grade 1.
Handy tips were given to assist the children with their transition into the new phase.
Musical Morning KG 1
It was a melodious and colorful morning as the young stars from Kindergarten 1 rendered beautiful songs based on the colours of the rainbow. They set the stage ablaze with their star power & confidence.
Musical Morning KG 2
The tiny tots of KG II were at their melodious best as they presented their ode to nature.
They used their sweet voices to praise flowers, birds, trees, leaves, and many more.
KG 2 Graduation day 7th March 2012
The culmination of kindergarten was celebrated with a graduation ceremony. It was a proud moment for the little graduates. They shared their experiences they had in kindergarten and their excitement to step into grade one was shining in their eyes.
Show & Tell Competition: KG 1
The little ones of KGI showcased their oratory skills in a Show & Tell Competition where they spoke clearly and confidently, leaving the audience spell bound.
Fancy dress Competition: KG 1
A fairy-tale fancy dress was organized to give our kindergartners an opportunity to step into the fairy-tale world. The little ones left the audience mesmerized as they confidently walked the ramp enacting different characters of the fairy-tale world!!
Summer Cool Day
The kindergarteners had great fun preparing some yummy cool mango smoothie in their classrooms.
Colour day
The little ones from KG1 learnt colours the easy way, with one colour introduced per week . At the end of the week they culminated the learning process with a ‘Colour day’ where they wore coloured clothes pertaining to the colour of the week.
“The old order changes yielding place to new”
On 19th May 2011 the new Prefect body was sworn in. This was an important event for the school and a crucial moment in a student’s life. With a sense of pride and responsibility the new prefects took their places on the dais. Our reverent Principal Father Varghese Puthusserry administered the oath to the newly elected body. The pledge was repeated by all prefects with great modesty and respect.
Mother’s day Celebration in RIS.
Mothers’ day was celebrated with a lot of good feelings and respect for our dear mothers who are the light of our lives. A special assembly was organized for the same and the children spoke their feelings in the form of poetry. A ramp show was organized for our fabulous moms and winners were crowned by our Principal. The students were given small talks in their respective classes.
We wish and pray for all goodness for our mothers.
Pearson writing Competition- 8th January 2012
It was a proud moment for us at Rajagiri when few of our students articles were selected to be featured in a book published by Pearson Global Schools as a part of UAE’s 40th anniversary celebration. A free copy of the book named ‘Capturing the Moment’ was given to the winners at a function organized by the company. A similar book was also published in school with the work of children to commemorate the same.
Night Camp- 3rd of November
The first ever night camp was organized in the school on 3rd of November. The evening started with a prayer and some light snacks were given for children. The campfire was lit in the playground and the children had lot of fun. They were grouped according to their houses and various activities were conducted. The winners were awarded prizes and trophies. The camp helped build independence and taught children how to share and adjust with their peers. It was a great experience for children.
Special assembly on UAE National Day- 2nd December 2011
Mr. Ahmad Mohammad Al Jafla was the chief guest of the day. The students staged a beautiful assembly in the school auditorium. There was a lot of pride and happiness among the children as they gathered in the auditorium to celebrate National Day. Children spoke about their life in UAE and a presentation on the 40 glorious years of UAE was shown to the children.
A DAY WITH BELHASA AND TRISTAR - 17th October, 2011
As a part of the school curriculum to develop the importance of being safe on roads, RIS organized a day with BELHASA and TRISTAR group on the 17th October, 2011 in the school premises.
The event focused on the Safety measures for little children. The highlight of the event was the interactive demonstration and hands on experience in driving a toy car in a mock setup.
The new experience had an advantage of making the children aware of safety and using it practically.
